Bal Gangadhar Tilak, considered as the father of Indian National Movement, founded Deccan Education Society and formed Home Rule League in 1916 to attain the goal of SWARAJ.

Bal Gangadhar Tilak was popularly called Lokmanya ( beloved of the people).

During the freedom struggle his famous slogan was “Swaraj is my birth right and I shall have it”.
